Since 2025, web shops and digital services must be accessible. Almost no one complies, and most don't know it.

The European Accessibility Act has been in effect since mid-2025 and affects virtually every web shop and digital service: your site must be usable for people with disabilities, and you must maintain an accessibility statement. The problem is not that entrepreneurs don't want to — it's that the requirements are written as a wall of guideline numbers, and an audit costs thousands of euros.

axessia scans your site and tells you in plain language which ten things you should tackle first. Then it creates the statement you are required to publish, and periodically checks again whether anything has regressed.

What it does

The scan with priorities

Not a list of two hundred warnings, but what matters first and why — in language you can pass on to your web builder.

The mandatory statement

Drawn up from what the scan finds and what you specify yourself, ready to publish.

Fix guides per platform

What you concretely adjust in Shopify, WooCommerce or your own site — per finding, not in general.

Rescan with alert

A new template or plugin can break something just like that. The rescan reports it before a visitor does.

For whom

  • Web shops that fall under the EAA and have not yet done anything about it
  • Digital service providers who hear from a client or a complaint that they must
  • Web builders who want to know where their customers stand

Where it is found

"Accessibility statement web shop mandatory", "EAA requirements web shop", "WCAG for beginners", platform × requirement. The free scan is content that others link to.

Frequently asked questions

Am I guaranteed to be compliant after the scan?

No, and we explicitly don't promise that. An automated scan doesn't find everything — some requirements are about whether something is logical for a screen reader, and no machine judges that. You get an indication and a statement, not a guarantee.

Does this also apply to small web shops?

There are exceptions for micro-enterprises, and the check determines whether you fall under it. Note that the exception may differ per service.

Do you also do the adjustments?

No. We figure out what needs to happen and deliver the statement; the construction work goes to a web builder.

How this platform is built

Like every platform of Theos Group: on one shared foundation, in your own management, with your own automatic administrator — here WOPR — who runs the daily rounds, reports disruptions and writes the daily report. What we learn from one system appears in all the others the week after.
