epria.eu
If you sell to another EU country, you must register there for your packaging. We find out where, and arrange it.
Extended producer responsibility means in practice something awkward: every webshop that supplies Germany must register in the German LUCID register and join a compliance scheme. France has its own system, Spain has its own, Austria has its own. Each with its own registers, its own annual volume reports and its own penalties.
It is rarely something to leave alone, because marketplaces actively check registration numbers: no number, no listing. epria shows which countries you must be registered in, arranges the registrations, and then monitors the reports that come back every year.
What it does
The country check
Where do you sell to, and in which countries does that create a registration obligation — for packaging, and where applicable also for electronics and batteries.
Registration per country
We handle the registration where we are permitted to do so on your behalf, and guide you where we are not.
The volume report
Every year you declare how much packaging material you have placed on the market. The deadline calendar is literally the product of this platform.
Knowledge base per country and stream
What applies in that country, who the compliance schemes are and what it costs.
For whom
- Webshops that supply multiple EU countries
- Sellers on marketplaces that ask for a registration number
- Importers bringing packaged products to the EU market
Where it is found
Country × obligation, with a lot of panic traffic right after a marketplace warning: "LUCID registration mandatory Dutch webshop", "packaging France Triman", "EPR number Amazon required".
Frequently asked questions
I only sell a few packages a year to Germany. Do I have to as well?
Yes. There is no minimum threshold for the registration obligation itself; it applies from the first package. The costs do depend on the volume.
Can you register me everywhere?
Where the intermediary route exists we do it on your behalf, and that is the case in most countries. Where that cannot be done, the platform will tell you that and we will guide you through it. We never claim that something has been arranged if it has not been.
What happens if I do not do it?
Penalties, and in practice more likely: your listings disappear. Marketplaces are required to check the numbers, and they do.
How this platform is built
Like every Theos Group platform: on one shared foundation, in own management, with its own automatic administrator — here DATA — that runs the daily rounds, reports malfunctions and writes the daily report. What we learn with one system is in all the others the week after.
