A digital product passport for mattresses is coming. The date is not yet confirmed: ESPR work plan 2025-2030: delegated act expected in 2028. Those who start now will only need a button later.
The target audience is mattress manufacturers, bed specialty retailers, hotel procurement. They do not search for "ESPR" or "delegated act" but for "mattress passport" — and this front door is built for that, with the knowledge base in the language of that industry.
Technically, this is the same passport engine as the other front doors, with a group configuration on top: the fields, the standard references and the clock for mattresses are a dataset and not code. Activating a new product group is therefore a front door plus a dataset, not a renovation.
