batpas.eu
The only product group with a fixed date. From February 2027 onwards, a battery without a passport may not enter the EU market.
From 18 February 2027, every product in this group must have a digital product passport. This is laid down in Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 (Batteries Regulation), Article 77 — it is the only product group with a date already set.
The target group is e-bike and scooter importers, battery traders, machinery manufacturers. They do not search for "ESPR" or "delegated act" but for "battery passport" — and this front door is built on that, with the knowledge base in the language of that sector.
Technically, this is the same passport engine as the other front doors, with a group configuration on top: the fields, the standard references and the clock for EV batteries, batteries for light means of transport and industrial batteries above 2 kWh are a dataset and not code. Activating a new product group is therefore a front door plus a dataset, not a renovation.
What it does
The product scan
The customer provides his catalogue; we classify each product in his group and show per product which data is still missing.
Compiling the passport
The fields that batteries need, with the source of each requirement per field.
Retrieving supply chain data
What the manufacturer doesn't know himself is requested in one query per supplier — not four separate emails about the same product.
Publishing and maintaining
The passport goes live at its own address with a QR code, and changes are recorded with version control. It has to be: in a recall, the question is always what was on it on the day of sale.
For whom
- E-bike and scooter importers
- Battery traders, machinery manufacturers
- Anyone who is asked for a passport by a customer and doesn't know where to start
Where it is found
The search language is that of the sector: battery passport, battery passport mandatory, battery passport 2027, batteries regulation. Volume gains traction once the delegated act makes the news — those already listed will be found.
Frequently asked questions
Does this apply to my product?
The group covers EV batteries, batteries for light means of transport and industrial batteries above 2 kWh. The free product scan divides your catalogue and tells you per product whether it falls under it.
When does it need to be ready?
18 February 2027. This date is set out in Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 (Batteries Regulation), Article 77.
What if my product falls into two groups?
Then it's one record with two passport layers, to be managed on prodpas.eu. Never enter twice — that's the core principle of the umbrella, and it prevents you from having two different figures for the same item one day.
How this platform is built
Like every platform of Theos Group: on one shared foundation, in independent management, with its own automatic manager — here AUTO — who runs the daily rounds, reports faults and writes the daily report. What we learn from one system is in all the others a week later.
